with The Peninsula Bangkok Hotel
Kick-starting the highly anticipated mooncake season this year is The Peninsula Bangkok’s ever-popular Chinese restaurant, Mei Jiang. Known for their unique mooncakes that are handmade according to a traditional Hong Kong recipe which uses organic eggs to produce the finest quality texture and flavour. The result is a pastry that is deliciously light and delicate.
This year, Mei Jiang is bringing back their signature egg custard mooncake gift set with a twist as they present an all-new collaboration with world-renowned Jo Malone London fragrances and Mariage Frères teas from France.
Their concept that mooncakes is suitable for people of all ages and lifestyles are showcased through 3 types of catalogues: Young, Middle and Older age demographics. Each catalog features a signature Jo Malone fragrance and a Mariage Frères tea carefully selected to match the unique characteristics of the corresponding demographic. Through each grouping, Mei Jiang’s egg custard mooncakes can be tastefully appreciated in different settings.
Here is a breakdown of the 3 Cataloges and their corresponding Jo Malone fragrance and a Mariage Frères tea:
Catalogue 1: Young age Demographic
Mariage Frères Tea: Pai Mu Tan – A white tea that is a little woody with a bitter aftertaste. It’s fragrance is light, much like it’s fragrance counterpart.
Jo Malone Fragrance: English pear and Freesia – A mild and sweet scent that feels refreshing and clean.
Mariage Frères Tea: Jasmine Mandarin – A green tea with heavy Jasmine scent that lingers in your mouth.
Jo Malone Fragrance: Orange Blossom – A musky orange scent that mimics its tea partner in heaviness.
Catalogue 3: Older age Demographic
Mariage Frères Tea: Pleine Lune – A black tea made with full moon almond and sweet spices. It is a tea that has a lot of similarities to chai tea with the fragrance of Almond in it. This is also the first time that this tea is being introduced to the Thailand market.
Jo Malone Fragrance: Peony and Blush Suede – The the strongest floral scent of the bunch that brings you the imagery of Spring time and beautiful flowers.
